Anupam Kher reacts to Aamir Khan’s trend of boycotting Laal Singh Chaddha: Everyone has freedom to express – Times of India

Aamir Khan The starrer ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ faced a strong boycott trend ahead of its release. The film has faced a disappointing fate with a collection of 50 crores after a week at the box office. Lately, veteran actor Anupam Kheri The canceled culture had reacted to face ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’.

The veteran actor argued that not many people have tweeted in favor of ‘The Kashmir Files’ and yet it emerged as a blockbuster and the boycott trend may not have majorly affected the film’s revenue. “Boycott se picture nahi chali aisa bhoordana hai (It is rubbish to say that films don’t work because of boycott trends). Two-three years ago the makers wanted their film to create some kind of controversy so that people would see it. Man Some controversy broke out, if something goes viral, then this picture will be ours. I know that I am part of the system. Now this boycott is going on but what is the difference? We are talking about Aamir recently. He had made some statements earlier in 2015 after which came Dangal and became the biggest hit ever in India. Did it affect his popularity or success? Everyone has freedom of expression. If some people feel That they don’t want to watch a certain film is their right. If a film is good and the audience likes it, there’s no way it won’t do well,” the veteran actor told Times Now.

He also addresses speculation that ‘The Kashmir Files’ was backed by the government. Anupam Kher said, ‘Not every critic deserves an answer. If Modi ji’s support was enough, then Narendra Modi biopic would have been the biggest film. Those who are saying all these things, I am sure they can go to the biggest people. Not many people tweeted about The Kashmir Files, but a lot of people tweeted about the recently released films. It’s so juvenile. When our films play, everything is fine, when our pictures don’t work, sab ispe dal do ye bjp ke log hai modi ji ke log hai (When our films don’t work, put the blame on BJP or Modi ji supporters). You’re a bad loser.”

Aamir Khan starrer ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ faced a trend of boycott after Aamir Khan’s old remarks about growing intolerance in the country surfaced again. Responding to this, Anupam Kher said, “If people have not liked something you have done in your past, then they have a right to be upset about it. It will come back to you.”
