‘Babuji the first to ensure good governance in UP after independence’: CM Yogi pays tribute to Kalyan Singh

Paying homage to late former chief minister Kalyan Singh on his first death anniversary, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday unveiled a grand statue of him and also inaugurated the operation theater block of Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute in the state capital.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogi Adityanath said, “Kalyan Singh ji, ‘Babuji’, was a leader in true sense. He set standards of selfless service and social justice. His contribution has been unparalleled and will always be remembered as his The government was the one to ensure ‘good governance’ in Uttar Pradesh. India gained independence.”

Yogi said Singh’s government was one which worked for the upliftment of all sections-women, poor, youth and farmers without any discrimination, keeping the cultural and spiritual heritage of the state intact.

The Chief Minister said, “Babuji’s government not only preserved the glory and heritage of the state at a time when it was going through a crisis and riots were everywhere due to the policies of the previous governments, but also controlled the ‘terrorist elements’. Was successful in doing that too.” He further said, “Even though the tenure of Kalyan Singh ji’s government was short, it established an ideal form of government.”

He further said that the medical institute, which has been named after Singh, offering state-of-the-art health facilities, currently has a capacity of 734 beds, which is being increased to 1,200. Yogi said, “This institution will become a unique, medium of welfare of the people in the name of Babuji.”

Highlighting the progress of UP in augmenting medical facilities in the last five years, Yogi said that at a time when the entire world was battling the COVID-19 pandemic, Uttar Pradesh proved its mettle. He said that in 70 years only 12 medical colleges were established in the state, but in the last five years 35 new medical colleges have come up with the efforts of both the central and state governments.

Adityanath said, “Today UP is working dedicatedly to achieve the goal of ‘One District One Medical College’ and all medical colleges will be named after great men who contributed to the state’s development and history. fabricate.”

Taking a jibe at the previous governments, Yogi also said that the state government is working to realize Babuji’s vision of ‘inclusive rural development’ and this is the reason why the rural areas which were engulfed in darkness before 2017. Today they are lit up with LED lights.
