Maruti Suzuki is rapidly expanding its portfolio in the Indian market. Moreover, the expansion is not only in terms of models but also in terms of variety of powertrains. The company recently launched facelifts of several models like Maruti Suzuki Baleno, CNG versions of older models like Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG, and Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a hybrid SUV in the form of Grand Vitara. Apart from this, the Indian automaker is also working on launching a Baleno-based crossover called Maruti Suzuki YTB.
In the recent past, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno-based crossover or YTB has been spotted testing multiple times, revealing minor details of the new model’s looks. Rumors have it that the new car will probably be launched at the 2023 Auto Expo. Until then, all of the credit for what we know about the YTB goes to Exploring Wheels for Spy Shots.
Based on the video, the Maruti Suzuki YTB looks similar to the Baleno in terms of size. However, the car is expected to have better aesthetics as compared to the latest model Baleno. Based on the old spy shots of the car, the car is also reminiscent of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara with a coupe-SUV type look.
The Maruti Suzuki YTB is one of the best kept secrets of the Indian automaker as the details of the car are not yet known. However, the car is expected to be based on Maruti Suzuki’s likable platform and could get a mild-hybrid powertrain to support the car’s performance. It will also have the option of both manual and automatic transmission.
Speculations are rife that like the Grand Vitara and Baleno, there will be a rebadged version of the car with Toyota’s name on it. Moreover, the car will be the first of its kind from the Indian automaker and will help them navigate a new consumer base in the Indian market.
