UP: Now, Sitapur Court sends Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair to 14-day judicial custody. Lucknow News – Times of India

Lucknow: Delhi Police on Monday brought Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair Regarding a case registered against him in Sitapur for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through his tweet Mahant Bajrang Muni, Yeti Narasimhananda Saraswati And Swami Anand Swarup,
Sitapur court Zubair has been sent to 14-day judicial custody but will remain in Delhi’s Tihar Jail where he was lodged after his arrest on June 27 in another case of hurting religious sentiments. After 14 days, the Alt News co-founder will again be produced before the Sitapur Court.

Lucknow Range Inspector General Laxmi Singh said that Zubair was produced in a Sitapur court in the above case. In his tweet, Zubair had reportedly referred to the three saints as “haters”.
The UP Police had filed a charge sheet against Zubair in the case. “A production warrant was issued after the chargesheet was filed against Zubair, who was booked for hurting religious sentiments and under sections of the Information Technology Act,” the IG said.
On May 27, one Bhagwan Sharan had lodged an FIR against Zubair for an alleged derogatory tweet against Mahant Bajrang Muni, Yati Narsinghanand and Swami Anand Swaroop.
